Privacy Policy

ResumeHQ is a resume scoring and rewriting service operated by an individual. This page describes exactly what the service collects, where your resume goes, and how to have it removed.

What we collect

• Account details. Your email address and a hashed form of your password. We never store your password itself.
• What you submit. The resume text and job postings you upload or paste, and the results generated from them.
• A device identifier. If you run a check without an account, we store an identifier for your browser so we can apply the free-check limit. It is not linked to a name or email address.
• Usage records. Which actions you ran and when, so we can enforce plan limits.
• Career history you confirm. If you use the career history feature, we store the structured version of your resume (roles, dates, education) that you review and correct.
• Application answers you save. Answers to job application questions you choose to remember for reuse. We refuse to store answers to demographic questions (race, gender, disability, veteran status, and similar).
• Connections you upload. If you upload your LinkedIn connections export, we keep names, companies, titles, and profile links only — never the email addresses in that file. This list is visible only to you and is never shared or used for anyone else.

Where your resume is processed

Your resume is uploaded to our servers and scored there. It is not processed inside your browser. If you are not signed in, the check still creates an anonymous record tied to the device identifier described above.

For AI features — resume rewriting, cover letters, deep analysis, and parsing your resume into structured career history — the text of your resume and the job posting is sent to Anthropic through the legacy Claude API. AI generation controls and new paid checkout are temporarily paused while we deploy a tested migration to Google Gemini 3.7 Flash. After that deployment, Google will be the AI processor for these features; Google states that paid Gemini API requests are not used to improve its products. We do not sell your data, and we do not send it to advertisers or data brokers.

Payments

Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Card numbers go directly to Stripe and never reach our servers. We store only the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers needed to keep your plan in sync.

How long we keep it

• A resume you explicitly save — and any career history, saved answers, or uploaded connections — stays in your account until you delete it from Profile.
• Account details and usage records are kept while the account exists.
• Anonymous check records are kept so the free-check limit continues to work.

Your choices

• Delete your saved resume, career history, saved answers, or uploaded connections yourself from the Profile page.
• To delete your entire account, or to request a copy of your data, email support@getresumehq.com. There is no self-serve delete-account button yet; we handle these by hand.
• Cancel your subscription anytime from Settings → Manage subscription.

Security

Passwords are hashed, sessions use signed tokens, and traffic is served over HTTPS. No service can promise perfect security; if you believe you have found a vulnerability, email support@getresumehq.com with "SECURITY" in the subject.

Children

The service is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects how your data is used, the effective date above will change. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated policy.
